Payment

Lessons may be paid for in cash at the time of the lesson.

Alternatively, blocks of 10 lessons may be paid for by cheque in advance. Any unused lessons will be refunded at the end of the course.

Cancellation

Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel a lesson, otherwise the lesson fee will normally be charged.

Deposit

Where lessons are paid for individually, a deposit equivalent to the fee for one lesson will be payable in advance to cover cancellations. This deposit is fully refundable if no cancellations occur - normally by covering the cost of the final lesson.

Timing

I will usually try to arrange a regular slot with you but recognise that from time to time, you will have other commitments. I will endeavour to rearrange lessons to accommodate you. Similarly, from time to time I may need to ask you to cancel or move to another mutually agreeable time.

Please arrive prompt for your lesson in order to maximise the time available. I always allow 15 minutes between lessons. This means that if you are on time, you will always get a full hour lesson and we won’t have to stop on the hour if we are in the middle of something that would be nice to finish. 

Location

Unless otherwise agreed, lessons will take place in my own home at: 27 Glyndebourne Park, Orpington, Kent, BR6 8EX.

Please remember you are coming to my home.  Please wipe your feet carefully or take off dirty shoes when you arrive.

General

Any personal information relating to you will be treated in the strictest confidence.

I maintain records of the tutoring and am happy to arrange a progress review with students and their parents or guardians from time to time if required.

Any materials I provide are for your own personal use, may be subject to copyright and should not be shared with others.

Although I can help with problems and give guidance, I will not undertake homework or coursework on your behalf.

I endeavour to deliver a high-quality tutoring service. However, you agree that I will not be held responsible for your academic success or for any damages or liabilities arising as a result of using my services or materials.

You should bring your school workbooks and textbooks together with a suitable notebook, pen, pencil, drawing instruments and calculator to use during the lesson.

You are free to contact me by e-mail between lessons, particularly to send me topics or problems you are finding difficult so that I can prepare to cover that area in the next lesson.

There is no ongoing commitment on either side. If either party wishes, the tutoring can be stopped by giving 1 lesson's notice.
